Hi howdy, and welcome back to the newsletter! February absolutely FLEW by before I even noticed, anyone else?  

Hello new subscribers from Emerald City Comic Con!! I hope your weekend treated you well. I’m glad you’re here! This newsletter acts as a little monthly update for those who dread sifting through the algorithm on Instagram, Bluesky etc. It’s peaceful here, so take a deep breath and let’s get into it.

Last month, after crunching to get ready for ECCC, I did a little healing at the spa and relaxation resort I call my long-distance besties house. We frolicked in the snow, and I threw her dog’s toy a little too hard so that it got launched deep into a snow bank.

Getting to the airport on the single day of the year in which an ice/snow storm hits Portland sure was a trek, but despite it all, despite every leg of our journey being delayed, we made it and it was so worth it.

We sat by the fire and ate hotpot, which was greatly needed. Here’s a picture of my snowman before we embarked on our journey (left), and my personal favorite moment from the trip (right).

As you may have seen on my ECCC table, Boon of the Beacon Maker CH.3 is done and printed! Snagging it from me from a convention table, Etsy, or subscribing to my Patreon are some of the only places where you can read it all in its entirety!

I am posting every Thursday on Webtoon, Tapas, Bluesky, Instagram, and Tumblr so it’ll take me a while to catch up.

With another great Seattle convention in the books, my next show will be Wondercon in Anaheim! I’m tabling as part of The Tomb Collective with Catskullery, Fawnduu, and Ren Strapp at table SP-58 over in the Small Press section.

I’m honored to say that I will be teaching drawing for animation and comics at a new cafe in Portland called Reggie’s Manga Shop. I attended their grand opening night last week, and it was a wonderful space!

My class will be 5 weeks long from April 3rd-May 8th. We’ll touch on things like perspective, character creation, storyboards, thumbnails, and we’ll include optional follow along assignments! There are two time slots; one for a little earlier in the evening on Tuesdays for youth, and a later class on Thursdays for anyone 17+.

This is my favorite show, LOVE ECCC, LOVE SEATTLE. I got to talk to so many cool people, meet new friends, and hang with old ones! I even got to meet Katy O’Brian, and I made my friend Tay come with me to meet her. I asked what her favorite bodybuilding pose was, and we whipped out the gun show. It was a blast!
