I had no idea this would happen…
Hello from the other side of my biggest convention EVER. New York Comic Con was a marathon. Four days of crowds and I made it out the other side alive, and intact, and taking basically no stock home with me! THANK YOU NYCC for making me sell out of so much. Next time I promise to come more prepared.
Selling out at comic con can really happen to anyone.
This was also my last show of the year, so I have plenty of time to restock on everything. I’m ready for the slow unwinding of Fall.

Some fun and exciting things that I brought with me to NYCC include my brand new Locked Tomb illustration zine, ‘The Unlocked Tomb’. I’ve packed four years of nonstop drawing this series into a 76 page zine. amongst its pages include illustrations, sketches, silly AUs, and even a multi-page comic I made at the height of the madness I experienced after reading this series. Take my hand as we take a walk down memory lane and wait patiently for the fourth and final book in this wild quadrilogy.
Speaking of my Locked Tomb zine, you can now put in your preorder on etsy if you missed it at the show! All preorders will be sent out around the first week of November.

Some other new items include smaller sizes of some of my most popular prints, like the cowbutches, Catradora, Caitvi, and Jinx! The Hades 2 illustration made an appearance. I also had some new stickers like Patreon’s July sticker club reward - bear knife.
These new items should be up on etsy by the end of the month, so keep ur eyes peeled xoxo.

September brought another Rose City Comic Con for the books
My favorite part of Rose City Comic Con (Portland’s comic con) is inviting all my friends over and having the pre-show gathering. Having heaps of shoes piled at my front door during get togethers has to be one of my favorite sights as my peers mingle, meet each other, and friend groups intertwine.
On our way to the show one day, a dog with a collar, but no human joined us at the train station, got on with us, rode to her destination, and got off. I have never seen this dog before, despite taking public transit almost every day, but she sure seemed like she knew where she was going. I respect that and I respect her.

Had a mini vacation
I went on a mini vacation to LA to attend a cousins wedding. It felt nice to kick back and not have to draw for a few days.
Here is a pic of my mom’s cat Charlie.

Chapter 4 of Boon of the Beacon Maker
Last month’s patreon update was all about Boon chapter 4. We finally have a draft of the cover, and finished thumbnails! Pencils are underway and I’m so excited to finally get into more meat of this story, and it’s so juicy and tender. Stay tuned!!

Got another zine piece out in the world
I did a piece for Trans Mag’s issue #2! I loved working with them in creating this piece. The crowdfund is currently taking place, so be sure to support trans art and donate to their printing costs here!
Here is a preview of my short comic I did for this wonderful collection.

I want to apologize
Lastly, I do want to apologize for the sporadic newsletters this summer. I recently got a literary agent, so I’ve been busy working on a pitch packet for a graphic novel! In between that and working 6 days a week at my day job, life sure has me in a vice grip. Some weeks, I can’t even get in any work on it at all, but my heart is in it, and I promise to share this story with you all soon!
Be sure to sub to my patreon, as I will be posting updates there more frequently than this newsletter (like twice a month instead of once a month, lol).
See you all next month, be good!
What else…
My buddy Jasmine’s book just came out! Check out the Traitor and the Wretch here! I give it a glowing 5/5 stars, and the illustrations are GORG.
I was interviewed by Brian Cronin of CBR at NYCC! Read the article here <3
